A Long Winters NapAs a child I envied the bear…each winter they “snuggle up” for months. What
can we learn from our slumbering forest friends? I believe they show us the value of
rest, slowing down, and of taking this time of year to look inward. » Click here to view publication

Toxicity and DetoxificationToxicity is of great concern in this century. We ingest strong chemicals,
use drugs/medications, eat more sugar and refined foods, abuse
ourselves with stimulants and sedatives. We’re also exposed to more
pollution, radiation and nuclear power. Our stressors and emotions can
also result in biochemical toxicity. The result has been an increase in
toxicity diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, arthritis,
allergies, substance abuse, skin conditions and obesity. » Click here to view publication

Inner Peace...Inner StillnessI always knew my career should be in health care. From the ripe age of 4, until 20, I was
resolved that medicine was my calling. That shifted when some older friends were going
through medical school. I quickly decided that the “fix it in 5 minutes with a drug
prescription” was not the connection that I wanted with my patients. Physical therapy was the
natural solution. As a physical therapist I was afforded the ability to get to “know” my
patients, to truly connect and learn what their health and life goals were. It has always been
very rewarding. I have been blessed with seeing patients walk for the first time, when it was
thought they never would; or seeing a patient lift their head and speak from a coma when
medicine had written them off. The touching moments are too many to mention, but have
clearly assisted in my own personal growth on all levels. » Click here to view publication

Connect and LiveI have been quoted numerous times regarding my belief that “one of the greatest gifts of
craniosacral therapy is that it offers the individual the opportunity to heal at whatever
level they desire…physically, emotionally, or spiritually”. However, having had the
opportunity to watch literally thousands of individuals on this path of healing, it becomes
very obvious how difficult it is for many of us to “connect” with all these aspects. Being
a physical therapist most individuals come to me with some physical complaint. Many
times it will be neck pain, back pain, migraines or nerve pain. As part of the physical
therapy aspect, I must ask, “describe your pain, how often do you have it? Is it increased
by walking/stress/weather?” I find it alarming how difficult it is for many to answer
these questions. Why do we find it so challenging to describe how our bodies feel? » Click here to view publication
